If your partner or a member of your family dies, you are bound to go through a difficult time. There are many matters you will need to take care of. Read on to find out more about the matters you may need to arrange with us.
When can Anw survivor benefit be stopped?
When a person who was receiving an Anw survivor benefit dies, their entitlement to Anw survivor benefit ends the day after the date of their death.
If a child aged under 18 of a person who receives an Anw survivor benefit dies, and there are no other children under 18, the child’s entitlement to Anw survivor benefit ends the day after the date of their death.
Holiday allowance
The holiday allowance that was built up each month from May until the date of death will be paid into the same bank account as the Anw survivor benefit.
The Anw survivor benefit has already been paid
If Anw survivor benefit has already been paid for the month in which the recipient died, an amount may have been overpaid. In this case, the overpayment will be deducted from the holiday allowance. Sometimes, the heirs will be asked to repay the remaining amount. We will send them a letter about this. The letter will be sent to the address of the deceased.
Annual statement
The annual statement will be sent to the address of the deceased. It is important to keep the annual statement. Annual statements cannot be sent digitally.
The My SVB account of the deceased will no longer be accessible
It is not possible to log in to the My SVB account of a deceased person to view their details.
A death grant may be payable
In some situations, a death grant may be payable. The death grant is equivalent to 1 month’s Anw survivor benefit.
Select the situation and read whether a death grant is payable.

If there is more than 1 child, each child is entitled to an equal share of the death grant.
Children who have lost both parents may qualify for an orphan’s benefit.
