You can request a certificate of non-insurance under the Wlz scheme if you meet the necessary conditions.

You are covered by health insurance in an EU or EEA Member State, treaty country, or Switzerland

If you are covered by health insurance in a country of the European Union (EU ) or European Economic Area (EEA ), or in a treaty country or Switzerland, you can request a certificate of non-insurance under the Wlz scheme if you:

  • live in the Netherlands, and
  • do not work in the Netherlands

You receive a pension from an organisation under international law

You can request a certificate of non-insurance under the Wlz scheme if you:

  • do not work in the Netherlands, and
  • have sufficient coverage under the collective health insurance scheme of the international organisation. This insurance must include hospital care and long-term care in nursing homes.

Your partner or family member receives a pension from an organisation under international law

You can request a certificate of non-insurance under the Wlz scheme if you:

  • live in the Netherlands, and
  • do not work in the Netherlands, and
  • do not receive a Dutch benefit, and
  • have sufficient coverage under the collective health insurance scheme of the international organisation. This insurance must include hospital care and long-term care in nursing homes.

Your late partner or family member received a pension from an organisation under international law.

You can request a certificate of non-insurance under the Wlz scheme if you:

  • live in the Netherlands, and
  • do not work in the Netherlands, and
  • do not receive a Dutch benefit, and
  • have sufficient coverage under the collective health insurance scheme of the international organisation. This insurance must include hospital care and long-term care in nursing homes.
