How much holiday allowance will you get?
The AOW holiday allowance is paid out each year in May. The net amount you receive depends on your personal situation, so it will be different for everyone. You can see the net amount of your AOW holiday allowance in My SVB under ‘Payments’ (Betalingen) as from May.
Why is holiday allowance not equal to 8 percent of the gross amount payable in AOW pension?
The AOW scheme has its own way of calculating holiday allowance. You build up holiday allowance by a certain amount each month. Because that amount is based on the holiday allowance for the Dutch minimum wage, it is usually adjusted in January and July each year.
