What is the Long-term Care Act (Wlz)?

The Long-term Care scheme (Wlz scheme) provides for people who need care and attention on a daily basis. Like the AOW pension scheme, it is a Dutch national insurance scheme that is funded by general income tax.

As a rule, you are automatically insured under the Wlz scheme if you are resident or employed in the Netherlands. You do not have to register for this.
