Holiday allowance
Your holiday allowance is paid in May. The exact amount is shown in My SVB as from 1 May, under ‘Payments’.
What period does your holiday allowance cover?
You build up holiday allowance from May of every year to April of the following year. Over this 12-month period, your holiday allowance increases by a small amount every month. If you start receiving an Anw survivor benefit after the month of May, you will get less holiday allowance for that year.
Example
You started receiving an Anw survivor benefit in August 2023. You will build up holiday allowance for 9 months from August 2023 to April 2024. You will receive your first payment of holiday allowance in May 2024. This is holiday allowance for a 9-month period. Starting from May 2024, you will build up holiday allowance for a 12-month period every year.
How is the holiday allowance calculated?
For people who are employed, holiday allowance is 8% of their gross annual salary. This is not the case for an Anw survivor benefit.
