Non-insurance because of your convictions or beliefs
If you do not wish to be covered by any form of insurance because of your convictions or beliefs, you can request a statement (an exemption) to show that you are not insured in the Netherlands.
Other reasons for non-insurance
If you receive wages or a benefit, you will usually pay national insurance contributions automatically.
If you do not wish to be insured and you meet the conditions for non-insurance, you can apply for an exemption. This means you will no longer be insured and you will stop paying contributions.
