When will your bridging benefit (OBR) change or stop?
If your situation changes, your bridging benefit can change or stop altogether. You must therefore inform us of any changes in your situation within 4 weeks. Select a situation and read how it might affect your bridging benefit.
How various changes might affect your bridging benefit
If your income changes, we will have to make a new calculation of your bridging benefit. We will then inform you whether your bridging benefit will change or stop.
If, for example, you start living alone or sharing a household with 1 or more people, we will check whether this will affect your bridging benefit. If your benefit changes, we will inform you about this by letter.
When you start receiving your AOW pension, the bridging benefit will stop.
If you should die, the bridging benefit will stop as from your date of death.
If your partner dies, you will receive the amount for a person living alone. We will inform you about this change to your bridging benefit by letter.
