Maximum posting period

The maximum posting period permitted depends on the country where you are going to work. For example, the rules for European Union (EU ) countries are different from the rules for treaty countries

Posting period per country

  1. If you work in an EU or EEA (European Economic Area) country

A posting may last up to 24 months. If you need to work outside the Netherlands for longer than 24 months, the posting period can be extended, providing the competent institution in the country where you work agrees to the extension.

  2. If you work in a treaty country

If you are posted under Dutch law to work in a treaty country, the posting period may be longer or shorter than 24 months. If you would like to know the exact period, please contact us.

  3. If you are posted to work in a non-treaty country

Please contact us if you are posted to work in a non-treaty country. We will then check what the maximum posting period is and how your posting will affect your social insurance coverage.
