When does an orphan’s benefit stop?
Your orphan’s benefit will stop if you no longer meet the qualifying conditions.
Your orphan’s benefit will also stop in the following situations:
Your orphan’s benefit will stop if you are adopted. If you live in the Netherlands, you are not required to report this change to us. If you live outside the Netherlands, you must report your date of adoption to us.
Your orphan’s benefit will stop after you have been in prison, a detention centre or a closed treatment facility for 1 month. After your release, we will start paying your orphan’s benefit again if you send us your release certificate.
Other income after your orphan’s benefit has stopped
In some cases, you may qualify for other income after your orphan’s benefit has stopped.
