When will your AIO supplement stop?

Your AIO supplement will stop if you stay outside the Netherlands for too long, or if there is a change in your income or assets. When will your AIO supplement stop?

If your income (or your partner’s income) is more than the amount of AIO supplement you are entitled to, or if your assets are more than the maximum amount permitted, your AIO supplement will stop.

If you stay outside the Netherlands for longer than 13 weeks, your AIO supplement will stop. You can apply for an AIO supplement again after you return to the Netherlands.

Your AIO supplement will stop if:

  • you move to another country
  • your residence permit is cancelled
  • you are in prison, a detention centre or a closed treatment facility
  • you die
