Your health insurance
If you live outside the Netherlands, you could still be covered by the Dutch Health Insurance Act (Zvw ). The CAK is the institution that decides whether this is the case. Where necessary, the CAK will ask us to deduct Zvw health insurance contribution for non-residents from your Anw survivor benefit.
More information on the Zvw health insurance contribution for non-residents
The Zvw health insurance contribution for non-residents includes a contribution under the Dutch Long-term Care Act (Wlz ). The amount of the contribution depends on the amount of your Anw survivor benefit and the country where you live.
Applying for a healthcare benefit
You might be able to claim an allowance (healthcare benefit) towards the costs of the Zvw health insurance contribution for non-residents under the healthcare benefit scheme. The amount of healthcare benefit you can get depends on your income. You can apply for healthcare benefit to Dienst Toeslagen in the Netherlands.
