Your health insurance
If you live outside the Netherlands and are receiving an Anw survivivor benefit, you may be insured under the Dutch Health Insurance Act (Zvw ). If that is the case, you must arrange your health insurance through the Central Administration Office (CAK ).
Deduction of Zvw health insurance contribution for non-residents
If you are insured, we will, at the CAK’s request, deduct Zvw health insurance contributions for non-residents from your Anw survivor benefit. These contributions consist of 2 components. One component falls under the Dutch Health Insurance Act and the other falls under the Dutch Long-term Care Act (Wlz ).
The amount of your contributions is calculated by the CAK, and depends on your income and your country of residence.
Applying for a healthcare benefit
In some cases, you may qualify for a healthcare benefit to help you pay your Zvw health insurance contributions for non-residents. You can apply to the Dutch authority Dienst Toeslagen for this benefit, which will depend on your total income.
