AOW pension rates depending on living situation

The amount of AOW pension you can get depends on your living situation, that is, whether you live on your own or share a house with another adult. 

The AOW pension rates are based on a percentage of the Dutch net minimum wage. The amount you can get depends on your living situation. Click below to read more about the percentage rates for each living situation.

Percentages depending on living situation

Select the situation that applies to you

You live on your own

Your AOW pension will be based on 70% of the net minimum wage.

You live with someone who does not yet receive an AOW pension

Your AOW pension will be based on 50% of the net minimum wage.

You live with someone who also receives an AOW pension

You will each get up to 50% of the net minimum wage. Together, you can get up to 100% of the net minimum wage
