How to claim an orphan’s benefit

  1. Check the qualifying conditions

    First check whether you meet the qualifying conditions for an orphan’s benefit.

  1. Who may claim an orphan’s benefit

    If you are under the age of 18, the following persons can claim an orphan’s benefit for you:

    • your guardians
    • your carers
    • youradministrator
    • an institution

    If you are 18 or older, you can claim an orphan’s benefit yourself.

    If you are under 18, your orphan’s benefit will be paid to your carer, guardian, administrator or the institution where you live. From the ages of 18 to 20, you will receive your orphan’s benefit yourself.

    Download the form and fill it in on your screen. Then print the form, sign it and send it by post to:
