Orphan’s benefit if you live outside the Netherlands
If you qualify for orphan’s benefit and you live outside the Netherlands, how much you receive depends on the country where you live.
You are going to live outside the Netherlands
If you move from the Netherlands to another country, this can affect your orphan’s benefit. There are some countries where we can pay only part of your orphan’s benefit or no orphan’s benefit at all.
If you want to know if this will affect you, or how much you can get in the country where you live, please contact us.
What will change if you start living outside the Netherlands?
- In some countries, you will have to pay tax on your orphan’s benefit. In that case, your benefit will not be taxed in the Netherlands
- You will pay a different healthcare contribution under the Zvw scheme. The Zvw scheme provides for insurance against medical expenses. If you get a Dutch healthcare benefit , this could also change
- If your carer gets Dutch child benefit for you, that will probably stop
- You will stop being automatically insured for a Dutch old-age pension (AOW pension). If you want, you can take out voluntary AOW insurance. Please contact us for more information.
