Your health insurance
If you live outside the Netherlands, you could still be covered by the Dutch Health Insurance Act (Zvw ). The CAK is the institution that decides this. If necessary, the CAK will ask us to deduct the Zvw contribution for non-residents from your orphan’s benefit.
More information on the Zvw contribution for non-residents
The Zvw contribution for non-residents includes a contribution under the Dutch Wlz scheme for long-term care. The amount of the contribution depends on the amount of your orphan’s benefit and the country where you live.
Applying for a healthcare benefit
You might be able to get an allowance towards the costs of the the Zvw contribution for non-residents. You can do this under the healthcare benefit scheme. The amount of healthcare benefit you can get depends on your income. You can apply for healthcare benefit to Dienst Toeslagen in the Netherlands.
