You live outside the Netherlands

If you live outside the Netherlands, you will probably not be insured under the Wlz scheme (Long-term care scheme).

Important information

When we assess your Wlz insurance position, we also look at how long you have been living outside the Netherlands.

  1. You live outside the Netherlands

    In that case, you will probably not be insured under the Wlz scheme, even if you are still registered at an address in the Netherlands, or you still have a house here. If you work in the Netherlands, you may well be insured under the Wlz scheme.

  2. You are away from the Netherlands for long periods of time

    In that case, we will look at where you live for most of the year, or at where you work. If it appears that you are living outside the Netherlands, it is possible that you are not insured under the Wlz scheme.

  3. You are staying in the Netherlands for a short time

    If you live outside the Netherlands but you are staying in the Netherlands for a short time, for example to visit the country or study here, you are probably not insured under the Wlz scheme.
