You have received a letter from the CAK or your health insurer

If you have received a letter from the CAK or your health insurer, find out what to do next.

What letter have you received?

  1. A letter from the CAK

If the CAK letter says you are ‘not insured’, it means that the CAK records show that you have not taken out a Dutch basic health insurance policy.

  2. A letter from your Dutch health insurer

Your health insurer wants to check whether you are subject to compulsory insurance under the Wlz long-term care scheme. Only then will you be able to take out or keep a Dutch basic health insurance policy (basisverzekering).
