When are you insured under the child benefit scheme if you work in 2 or more countries?
If you live or work in the Netherlands, you are normally automatically insured under the child benefit scheme. However, if you work in 2 or more countries, different rules may apply.
Select the situation that applies to you
You are employed in 2 or more EU countries.
If you are employed in 2 or more EU countries, you will be insured in the country where you live providing:
- you work for at least 25% of your working hours in your country of residence, or
- you work for a company that is based in the country where you live
You work for 2 or more employers in different EU countries
You will be insured in the country where you live, also if you work in international transport.
