Applying for a DigiD
DigiD allows you to log in securely to manage your affairs with the SVB online, even if you live outside the Netherlands. How to submit an application for a DigiD in a variety of situations is explained below.
You live in the Netherlands
If you live in the Netherlands, you can apply for a DigiD via the DigiD website or the DigiD app .
On the DigiD website, you will find an explanation and several videos. However, there are a variety of ways to get help with your application.
You live outside the Netherlands
If you live outside the Netherlands, there are many situations in which you can apply for a DigiD. However, you do need a Burgerservicenummer (BSN ). Select the situation that applies to you to read whether you can apply for DigiD.
If you live outside the Netherlands and you receive an AOW pension, or you have received a letter from the SVB informing you about your first AOW pension payment, you can apply to us for a DigiD. You can submit your application in Dutch or English.
If you live outside the Netherlands and you do not receive an AOW pension, or you have not received a letter informing you about your first AOW pension payment, in many cases you can still apply for a DigiD.
